Universe Bowl VII: Post 8

According to the cardigan-wearing Fred of Mystery, Inc., “she appeared from the mist.”  Fred refers to Black Lantern Aunt May, who single handedly managed to kill both Velma and Scooby Dumb despite her frail appearance.    Fred tells the story of a dark and stormy night in Reliance City, driving the emblazed motor vehicle of Mystery, Inc.  He slammed on the brakes of the van as the gang was confronted by Black Lantern Aunt May.

Shaggy, also of Mystery, Inc., explains the events following the screeching of the tires upon moist pavement.

“If it weren’t for Scooby’s back legs paddling at incredible speed and spinning that pizza plate at Aunt May, ZOINKS, we would be gonners for sure!”

Fred, Daphne, Shaggy and Scooby Doo all corroborate that after Velma and Scooby Dumb were killed by being pulled from the van’s side door, Scooby Doo tripped over a plate of pizza, centered in the middle of the van’s back floor.  The plate flew across a small expanse and sliced the ring finger off of Black Lantern Aunt May.  The desiccated corpse looked down and screamed as her body exploded into a pile of dust.

The remaining Mystery, Inc. members eventually started the car again and drove on through Reliance City.  The vehicle came to a dead stop at the sight of two children and a cat.  Later, the trio was identified as Heathcliff the Cat, along with Peppermint Patti and Marci.

“Our vehicle went kablooey, man,” exclaims Shaggy.  “Fred didn’t stop it himself.  The van was sabotaged by Glom.”

Fred was unable to start the vehicle again.

“It was apparent that Glom siphoned the energy out of the van’s battery, just as it does with all types of energy,” says Fred.

As Glom emerged from the vehicle’s hood, it was struck down by Green Lantern Alan Scott who managed to find his compatriots in the knick of time before further damage could be caused by Glom.  While Glom was destroyed by Scott, the Mystery, Inc. members fought with the Peanuts’ characters and the Gately created cat.  It was only a matter of time before Scooby Doo ripped Heathcliff apart due to his portly stature and because the cat was unable to move quickly enough away from the jaws of the canine.

“They just seemed to be in their own world arguing,” says Daphne of Mystery, Inc. about the female duo.  “The one wearing glasses just kept saying to the other, ‘Sir this’ and ‘Sir that’.  They caused enough of a distraction between themselves, allowing me to wipe them both out with my Star Wand and the assistance of Batgirl’s utility belt weaponry."

“I arrived to the scene and knew that both Ganthet and myself had to focus on the majors of the battle,” said Katma Tui (from an earlier interview)

According to the Korugarian, both she and Ganthet managed to kill both Nightbird and Batgirl by using their rings’ powers, creating and constructing energy fields.  Although the Batman protégés held their own, they were overmatched and eventually succumbed to their fates.

Katma Tui then fell in a skirmish to Scott, who was, in turn, killed by Ganthet, right before my eyes.

            “Rooby roo!!!” emoted Scooby Doo.

“That’s right Scoob.  You, Fred, Daphne, this reporter and me just high tailed it out of there before Ganthet could catch us,” responded Shaggy.

At the time of this article, Mystery, Inc. and Ganthet are confirmed as being the only members of both their respective teams as surviving the event. I will report back if anything changes back here, which I suspect will be quite soon.
