December Optional Tournament

In the second half of this month there is going to be an optional tournament. It will be a "strike force" tournament with the setting being the K of C Hall on Warren Road in Detroit (known to many members of the FFL simply as "The Hall"). Each strike force will consist of 1 character that costs 39 points or less (the leader), 2 commons that cost 30 points or less(the officers), 2 commons that cost 15 or less, 2 commons that cost 8 or less, and 1 character that costs 4 or less (the annoying mascot). This tournament is optional to join, but teams may also enter more than 1 strike force (I reserve the right to put a limit on how many you may enter, but as of right now I will not. For entering the tournament you will recieve an AT-RT (1 for each strike force you enter). The grand prize will be the Delorean/time machine from Back to the Future. The other prizes will depend on how many teams enter the tournament. Your teams are due in by Dec. 15th, and the tournament will be completed no later than the Expansion draft/draft lottery on Jan. 9th.

Season 3 Schedule

This is the schedule for Season 3. There are several new teams, and most of them have not submitted team names yet, so they will probably change before the season starts; but there are many requests coming in for this schedule, so I found it important to post it now. The name next to the match is the Watcher who will be witnessing that particular match. This is tenative and subject to change, but we will do our best to keep changes to a minimum. Weeks 3, 5, & 9 are retreat weeks, and the rest are all death matches. As always, please feel free to contact me at any time by whatever media means you prefer for any questions you may have.

This Jedi laden team made their first play-off appearance last season, and it is crazy to think that they won’t be right back their after year 3. With the promotion of many force users, not to mention Greek gods, Silver Surfer and Hulk (with a bunch of his old buddies) this team is only going to improve (especially if they have anywhere near as good of a draft as they did last season (possibly the best in the league). They picked up a few deaths in the off-season for Snow troopers #1, 3, & 7 when they were on “big goober fish” feeding duty, as well as deaths for Ninja #12 and Army Soldiers # 132, 134, & 149 during some of Mike Huckabee’s more rigorous training exercises, but nothing that is going to do any permanent damage to this team. If this team needs anything at all it is just a little more depth, but with the new expansion in season 3 you can expect this team to do just fine.

For a team that has spent their entire FFL career on the brink of making the play-offs they should benefit well from the expansion and their new division positioning (getting out of a division with TEAM & The Horsemen is something that just about anybody would look forward to). The Kennelz Dark Jedi’s have all become Dark Jedi Master’s; but the real story of force apprenticeship is JedI Knight #30A, who has just completed the trials after being trained by Senior JedI Master Mace Windu. Master Windu was very impressed with his Padawan and his ability to wield a light saber in the elusive form 7 style that very few JedI have ever mastered. The secretive Coach Oracle, reveals very little about what goes on in the locker room, and Assistants Walsh & McCain are pretty tight lipped as well, but we Watchers do know that mysterious deaths were dealt to Evil Dwarves #1, 3, & 5, Dark JedI Master #37, Young JedI Knight #8, and Samurai #12. With a good draft, you can look forward to seeing this team have a better season than they have ever had in the past.

Making the play-offs in The American League is hard. Making the Play-offs when you play in The Ryan Poteracki Division along with The Horsemen and TEAM is very hard, but The Untouchables manages to do both of those things last year. Although they ended up getting eliminated in the first round, what they accomplished last season is still something to be proud of. In the coming season, The Untouchables will be in a new division with their rival The Kennelz and 2 expansion teams, which is going to up their chances for success drastically, with a decent draft, this team could be one to watch closely in the coming season. Between the ents, dragons, griffins, and giant robots that wander the halls of The Untouchable Locker Room a couple of deaths did ensue. Namely, Elven Soldiers #2 & 10, Space Trooper #14, Navy SEAL #36 & Horse #6. Other than these minor incidents, Commissioner/Coach Gordon runs a pretty tight ship and the team moral is good going into their third season.

Making it to the league finals would be considered a successful season for just about any other team, but not TEAM. When you have been one of the top teams in the entire FFL since day 1, the only thing that makes them content is hoisting the Universe Bowl trophy. TEAM, along with their inter-division rival The Horsemen of Apokolips are still considered to be possibly the two best teams in all of Fantasy Fantasy, not to mention the standard-bearers of the most anticipated match of the season, when they square off in Week 6 for 2500 points. TEAM and The Horsemen have battled with each other more than any 2 teams in all of FFL, but their matches are always exciting bloodbaths. Futar #5 & 6, & No-Ship Futar #1 were all stepped on by either Godzilla or Zilla at some point during the year, while Val Kyrie #4 & 6, and Phibian #8 were all killed in some of Ethan “those that can’t do teach” Hunt’s rigorous training exercises which have kept all of TEAM on their feet since the very beginning of Season 1. Mimmell unfortunately died twice this year while trying along with The Tlielaxlu Masters and their massive genetic breeding program to birth a clone of TEAM’s #1 star Superman. Despite their past failures they have by no means given up hope on this plan, but do to their complicated gender reversal technology (displayed last year, in their creation of Shimmell). They were successful, with the birth of She-Man a genetic clone of He-Man with 2 X chromosomes. She-Man has much to learn as far as getting used to her surroundings, but she has displayed many of the same strength and fighting abilities that made the original He-Man so famous.

As the returning FFL Champions, and Back to Back division winner of the top division in all of Fantasy Fantasy, you can count on The Horsemen being stolen from early and often in the expansion draft. This team is undoubtedly the deepest team in all of Fantasy, and you can count on them having another great draft in Season 3. The team’s Dark Jedi’s have all graduated to the rank of Dark Jedi Masters, and the team’s 2 Younglings have been taken as Padawans by Luke Skywalker & Plo Koon. Dark Jedi Masters #6, 2A, 4A, & 7A were all dealt deaths throughout their rigorous training process, but the training has paid off. Amazon #5 was killed during T-Rex feeding duty, and Navy SEAL #2 was accidentally stepped on by Cave Troll #4. Hanibal Lectur, has got his team working as a well oiled machine and is hungry (get it) for another championship. Ella Artrip’s training is coming along nicely, as she is getting a well-rounded variety of fighting techniques from numerous different sources. She has already begun her hand to hand combat training with her late Uncle Josh’s famous tanto (Chris & Julie took the Katana & Wakisachi that finish off the matching set). The Horsemen have made several off-season trades to attain new members, but their newest character; is Moltenadon, the oldest of the ancient race of Balrogs from Middle Earth (unfortunately this character did kill both J.R.R. Tolkien and his son Christopher once each right after the former created him). As usual, we can all look forward to an eventful season for the Horsemen, as they battle with their arch-rival TEAM for dominance of their division (and the league). Make sure to check them out as they do battle with each other in the big 2500 point death match in Week 6.

The most unlucky team in all of FFL, Xavier’s Annihilation Squad (formerly The Legion of Doom) has been the best team to not make the play-offs for two years in a row. With the onset of the league’s expansion and the new play-off format this team should have a great shot at a play-off bid, and possibly even the winning of the newly put together Central Conference. This team has a lot of great characters for the expansion teams to steal that are left over from the old Legion of Doom regime, but Prof. X obviously has a new path in mind for the franchise. The Queen Aliens tend to fight among themselves for dominance which has resulted in the deaths of #’s 2, 8, & 10. Allosaurus #12 ate Wookie Soldiers #16 &18, and Ancient Sith Lord #15 choked Atreides Soldier #21 to death when he failed a test mission. The Sith Lords have learned a lot from the powerful Darth Bane and have created a Sith order that rivals the Sith in their glory from thousands of years ago. With a good draft, we can all expect this team to have a better season than they have ever had in the past.

Despite making quite a few good moves in the season 2 draft, Better Than All of You did not have anywhere near the success last year as they did in Season 1. But with them being removed from the Nick Houslander Division, and no longer having to play The Commandos twice a season; Better Than All of You should have a very good chance of making the play-offs this year. This team still does have a good core, and with their monopoly on Predators and Terminators they have some of the best commons in the league (Only the Backyardigans are really comparable). The Predators can’t help doing a little trophy hunting in the off-season which has resulted in the deaths of Army Soldier #12, Cobra Viper #6, & Orc #11. To rally the troops in true pro-wrestling fashion, several Terminator/N.S.-5 robot death matches have been thrown together which ended up dealing deaths to N.S.-5’s #13, 14, & 20 (The Terminators are still undefeated). This primarily evil (and male) team gets along pretty well with each other, and it is pretty safe to say that we can look forward to a much better year for Better Than All of You.

The Commandos are easily still one of the premier teams in the N.L., and with the reforming of the Nick Houslander division they should have little difficulty, winning the division for the third year in a row. Jedi Padawans #34A-36A were taken as apprentices by Jedi Masters Kaja Sinis, Ben Kenobi, & Luminara Unduli. Dumbledore gladly gave up his unorthodox spot on the Jedi Council, as soon as Kaja Sinis joined the team, which has established a strong Jedi leadership that works very closely with President Obama and at times serve as a good go-between for the President and the Doom and Montana factions that at times can be very polarizing. This has resulted in quite a few in-house squabbles usually prompted by some of the team’s evil characters. Most famously was the big Gungan/Sardakaur battle which ended up with the deaths of Gungans #12, 28, & 35, as well as Sardakaur #16 and horse #14 (innocent bystander). Training sessions are still taking place daily, which are proving useful in the furthering of the fighting prowess’s of many of the fighters, most notably Dora, Boots, and the Brangelina brats. No doubt that this team will remain a force to be reckoned with next year and that they will easily grab up a premier play-off seed.

Allia & Gandalf had no problem stepping down from their unorthodox Jedi Council spots to make room for Leia Organa-Solo & Coleman Trebor on what has become the council leading a team that is heavy laden with many Jedi Masters & Knights. The Brigade may not have made it as far into the play-offs this year as they did last year, but they are still considered by everyone in the know to be one of the premier teams in The National League. Army Soldiers #102, 108, & 129 all died while on sea creature feeding duty, and Skeletor Troop # 4 was killed mysteriousely when he pissed off both Marcellus Wallace and Vito Corleone, who have suprisingly not gotten into a turf war over the team (yet). Horse #41 & 43 were both eaten by Silver Dragons and Horse #28 was turned into glue when Andre the Giant unsuccessfully tried to ride him.

With arguably the best core out of any team in the entire FFL, the only negative thing you can possibly say about this team is that they lack the depth that some of the other premier teams in the A.L. have. With that being said assuming that The Backyardigans have even a decent draft they should easily waltz their way into the play-offs and probably a third straight division win as well. The Sith duo of Darth Vader & his apprentice Darth Talon are working perfectly together and the primarily evil team has no problem following their lead. Wargs #1, 3, & 5 were all dealt deaths by being eaten by dragons. While Dark Side Marauder #4, Arc Trooper #4, and Storm Trooper #15 all paid the price for their lack of vision at one point or another and were choked to death by Lord Vader. Storm Trooper #15, despite being made a semi-official member of The Arc Troopers (to be played for free with that squad) was also choked to death by Darth Talon, but most of the team thought it was just her way of showing off to Vader. It is unsure whether or not this team will be able to get past the hurdle of TEAM & The Horsemen in the play-offs, which is something they have had trouble doing in the past, but it is safe to say that they are going to be one of the best of the best in the league like they have been since day 1 of the FFL.

After getting off to a great start last year, Alice's Wonder Team took a definite turn for the worse in the second half of the season, but people in the know can't help but think that it was all part of Grand Admiral Thrawn's master plan. This is a team with a great base, but they are definitely lacking depth. Between The Sith Lords and Joruus C'boath, they have developed a dark side/vampire cult that is found to be extremely creepy even by the remaining Alices and

the goblins. The Mummies have been set up as a lower caste in the Vampire cult which resulted in the deaths of Mummies #6 & 9 when they weren't worshipping properly. Goblins will be goblins, so you can imagine that they have their typical squablles. This gave deaths to Goblins #12, 55, & 78. And as expected, when Primus began one of his massive and rare transformations, Kenny got to close which resulted in Primus accidentally killing him (bastard). Other than these few minor setbacks if Alice's Wonder Team can manage to have a good draft, than they should be in good shape to have a better season than they have ever had in the past.

Patience has paid off for The Abomitrons. The Jedi Knights and Immells that were drafted in the old Reign Supremacy days have become Jedi Masters and fully functional clones that are ready to do battle. Jedi Knight #36's lightsaber was given to Sledgehammer who has attached it to his .44 Magnum. While Immell #20 (Iron Jedi) has formed a Jedi Council consisting of himself, Immells #4, 10, & 11; as well as Yaddle (the other senior Jedi), Mara Jade, and Jedi Masters #37A-39A, 41A, 47A, and 50A. Elite Clone Trooper #30 killed Snow Trooper #28 in an in-house squabble, which has led to all troopers having to attend anti "clone on clone" crime seminars. Wookie Soldier #34 and Ape Soldier #6 were also both dealt deaths when they decided to get rowdy and test the skills of some of the new Immells. They underestimated the combined clones and found that they were no match for Death Hammer (Immell #16) or Tammell (Immell #14). This team has gone from having the worst record in the FFL in Season 1 to just barely missing the play-offs in Season 2. With the onset of expansion in both number of teams to compete against and number of teams making the play-offs The Abomitrons look really good going in to Season 3.

What happend in the locker room:
It’s been a busy off-season for the Brotherhood’s locker room. Jedi Padawans #17-20 all rose to the rank of Jedi Knight. Head Coach Alexander the Great also saw Jedi Knights #33-35 ascend to Jedi Masters. But with these promotions, many Jedi are without Padawans. Oppo Rancisis and Jedi Master #33A have taken the grown Younglings as their Padawans. Toad and Toad got into a scuffle as to who was the more “Toady” in a fight. During that fight, Treasure troll was stepped on and killed. (Toad won by the way.) Count Dooku, Darth Yardigan and Asajj Ventress have been secretly meeting with the Dark Side Acolytes and Dark Side Adepts, while Dark Jedi Master #13 and Dark Jedi Master #13A have found a unique bond between them. Mr. Mxyzptlk and Nosyarg Kcid caused a bit of ruckus when they magically released all six of the Brotherhood’s Trolls and their three Velociraptors. The Green Lanterns were able to pen the beasts, but not before Ginaz Swordsman #11, Dwarf #2, Mokey, and Hammer Bros. #16 all were killed by the animals. The two Fifth Dimension Imps had a good laugh over this. With the expansion of the League, the Brotherhood stands to make a pretty good run at this year’s Playoffs.

The Built Ford Tough squad got off to a rough start, but for their first year in the league actually surpassed the expectations of many. For a team that lacks depth they do have some talent that definitely was showcased during season 2 and will probably be more apparent in Season 3 with the new expansion. The Arachnids proved very useful during the last season, but they aren't exactly safe to have in the locker room, which is how Ewok #75, Sand Troopers #5 & 15, & Scout Troopers #2, 14, & 27 were all dealt deaths. The team's Sith Lords have been patiently trying to turn the Failed Jedi to the Dark Side of the force, giving them a quick and easy path to the power that they were unable to completely attain through Jedi training. Some of them have shown that they have more powerful resistance abilities and Jedi order loyalties to this than expected, but others have been amazingly receptive.

P.S. This team doesn't have alot of money and Fantastic Max and Diego go thru diapers pretty quick, so if you could give them a hand with some extra Pampers, it would be appreciated.

It was a fairly dissapointing season for Team S.P., having made quite a few moves to improve during the Season 2 draft but not making the play-offs when they had in Season 1. The weakness of The Bryan Beckerman division as oppossed to The Ryan Poteracki division made it difficult to secure a play-off spot, but after this years expansion, Team S.P. may find themselves on the top of the heap once again (even though it would be very difficult to win the division, being stuck with both The Backyardigans and The Abomitrons to compete with). The Brood Queen has taken control of not only her own Brood but of all The Xenomorphs as well which has made the rest of the team section off about two thirds of their headquarters as "Alien territory". Several deaths occurred when Team S.P. members wandered into the area, these were SHIELD Agent # 4, Navy Sailor #14, Skrull #49, and Compy's #30, 34, 56, & 80. Other than that Alexander Luthor with the help of the Munsters, Cyclops, & Brainiac run a pretty tight ship which keeps in house problems to a minimum.

Jedi Master #20 has taken the former Jedi Youngling #39 as his padawan learner while the former Youngling #40 has been taken as a padawan by Fluke Starbuster. Marine #36 & Clone Trooper's #29 & 58 all were dealt deaths while on Sandworm feeding duty, but despite this, having the Sandworms around has been more than beneficial for the team as they are now all highly addicted to the spice melange, giving the entire team hightened awareness and amazing reflexes, not to mention extended life (Due to their extreme spice addictions since the very beginning of the league, Ron Popeil, Guy Gardner, & the entire Mystery Inc. gang have all been gifted with one more life, that even the mighty Watchers have been unable to remove). Ewoks #10, 15, & 38, along with Jawas #2 & 8 were all eaten by Rancors at some point, but nobody has any details because for the most part it went unnoticed. King Leonidas is confident that Season 3 will bring good things to the Murderflies and believes that their chances of making the play-offs for the first time this year are very good.

Head Coach Mcgruff, though not much of a tactician has also done a pretty decent job of keeping the team's spirits up. Despite unprecedented lossses to The FFL Graveyard last season, The Valley did manage to pull off some more wins and to put together a decent season (especially in comparison to their 9 straight losses in Season 1). Jedi Padawan #37's training is progressing rather well under the tutelage of Jedi Guardian #3, while the Sith Lord Darth Rave has become a powerful warrior who is working tirelessly to train Darth Techno in the ways of the dark side. Star Fox on the other hand has been put in charge of the team's pilot corps, and has also become pretty good with Darth Maul's old double bladed lightsaber, despite the fact that he has no force powers. It is no secret that this team will have to have a good draft just to fill the spots that have been emptied do to the massive amount of deaths they experienced, but they have high hopes for a winning season. Three Little Goombas were accidentally stepped on by Transformers during the off-season (#5, 9, & 60). While Rob Bartlett proved his fighting prowess when he got into a scrum with Navy Sailor #64 who unfortunetely did not make it out of the incident alive. The team was very impressed with Bartlett's new found fighting skills (even after they found out that the sailor had a blood alcohol level of .26 and could barely hold his click clack). Moritani Soldier #2 was also dealt a death when a huge hammer was "accidentally" dropped on his head by Giant Hammer Bros. #1 after he made a brief video making fun of the Hammer bros. and their cousins inability to get the job done in the last 2 seasons.
