Brock Sampson's Fighting Murderflies Vs. The Empire

Brock Sampson's Fighting Murderflies are Graboid #1, Sandworm #1 and 2, Ginaz Swormaster #10, Jedi Knight #39B-40B, and 20, Ewok #7-40, Jawa #1-6, Mars Attack Martian #1-6, Ewok #7-40, Clone Trooper #26-49, Opee Sea Killer #1-6, Squirrel #2-15. Navy SEAL Chief #10, 28-32, U.S. Marine #26-49, and 5 Star General Dorf: Supreme Commander of The Murderflies.

The Empire is The New X-Men: Surge, Prodigy, Blindfold, Rockslide, Mercury, Anole, and Gentile, The In-Betweener, Lord Chaos, and Master Order, Bill Kelly: Dark Jedi Master w/ Aaron Eggemeyer, Batman Jr. and Christopher Robin in The Millenium Groudy, Daredevil (w/ Mithril Vest and Green Lightsaber), The Blob, Hanibal King, Hyperion, Hawkeye, Mother Askani, Meggan, Capt. Britain, Arachne, Scarlet Spider, Trygon, Superman Jr., Black Zero, Black Zero, (Full Spectrum) Kyle Rayner, White Lantern Swamp Thing, Magius, and Zombie Nick Houslander.

Murderflies Pre-game

“General Dorf, I must admit that I am not overly impressed with the squad that we are going into the big week with”. Says Murderfly veteran Ginaz Swordmaster #10. Dorf looks up and replies: “We may not be in as bad a shape as you think Colonel. The Graboid and The Sandworms are positioned in the desert. The Navy SEALS are wrangling the Opee Sea Killers in the ocean and the rest of us will hold up here in this abandoned warehouse. I'm tired of this league, and I did not ask to be brought back to life to it. I have no desire to take super-heroes head on; but I am confident in the training of all these FFL Veterans. I know the rules, and The Empire doesn't win unless they kill all of us; so we'll make them come to us to do it”.

Empire Pre-game

Mother Askani has been put in charge of the largest force The Empire will put forth this year, well unless they make the play-offs... So, like I said; Mother Askani has been put in charge of the largest force The Empire will put forth this year. She speaks to her team: “The Murderflies wish to play shadow games against us. They think that we will grow tired searching them out and that they will take advantage of us when we make a mistake. In-Betweener, Lord Chaos, and Master Order. I give you the charge of taking out the Sandworms. Let us see if your cosmic powers are enough to destroy the creatures that bring down empires. They are in the desert, yet if they are as large as people boast, than I cannot imagine that they will be hard to find. Take with you whomever you must; but do not fail me. Swamp Thing, take Rayner, the Black Zeros and Trygon with you. Your charge is to take out the Opee Sea Killers. The rest of you are with me. I have seeked the whereabouts of The Murderflies, it is now your job to destroy them”.

The Battle

Master Order, Lord Chaos, and The In-betweener seem confident as they depart from the team meeting, yet they must feel that they cannot do it all on their own, due to the fact that they take both Hyperion and The Blob into the desert with them. Hyperion, as ordered by the cosmic trio flies in and makes quick work of the graboid. He exhumes the creature from its sandy protection and then proceeds to pummel the pre-historic animal into more dust for the sands. This beating motion brings forth the much larger sandworms. Sandworm #1, the largest and the greatest of all of The FFL's Sandworms leaps in to the air from his depths of the dunes and comes down with the super-powerd Hyperion now in its mouth. The In-betweener channels the power that exists between the Fantasy Fantasy world and the world in which Shai-Halud is the conqueror of the Imperium; while Master Order and Lord Chaos cosmically debate whether or not the sandworms are worthy of death at their hands. The Blob is thriving in the hot arid landscape; but it does not thrive quite as much within the belly of Sandworm #2. Master Order and Lord Chaos, while embodying their floating head forms decide that the destruction of the sandworms is in the best interest of the universe. The two cosmic entities remain still as they are consumed by the sandworms in their concentration, Chaos by #1 and Order by #2. The In-betweener focuses the energy given him by his two masters and then, while being consumed himself by the two makers destroys their life force from this plane of existence.

White Lantern Swamp Thing flies in towards the sea with his men following close behind. But Rayner decides to go in on his own. Being driven crazy by the immense powers of all of his rings, Rayner flies directly into the mouth of Sea Killer #4. The big goober fish dies in the explosion of power that comes next, but Rayner's human body cannot handle the power either. The Navy SEALS are floating on a small makeshift raft with the Sea Killers underneath them when the two Black Zeros swoop in and rip the six chiefs apart. The well-trained men fight valiantly, but they are no match for the Superboy clone and his new bud from the Mega Man Universe. White Lantern Swamp Thing then uses the living vegetation from the depths of the Play-off Planet Sea combined with his white lantern powers to overcome, strangle, and destroy the five remaining Opee Sea Killers. Trygon smirks at the destruction done by those who claim to be “good”.

Back in the city, Mother Askani is prepared to mount her attack on the well fortified warehouse that has become the home base of The Murderflies. She sends The Millenium Groudy in first to recon the situation. Batman Jr. is sitting in the driver seat when Dark Jedi Bill Kelly and his homeboy Aaron walk up. “Move over Robin, I'm drivin”. Bill says to Batman Jr. Batman Jr. moves over while Aaron pops in the back seat with Christopher Robin, who is already there.

The camo-colored Jeep Wrangler busts through the warehouse doors to see that the ewoks will be the first line of defense for the Murderflies. Bill looks to Batman Jr. and says: “Okay Robin, now take the wheel”. As Bill leaps out of the Jeep and draws back his energy bow taking out two ewoks before he hits the ground. He then draws out his blue lightsaber as he is rushed by Jedi Master 39B. The two clash swords, when Bill gains the upper hand and takes out the Jedi with a spin move; but the move doesn't work when he is confronted by Murderfly veteran from the Season 1 Slaves trade Jedi Master #20. The seasoned jedi master is able to finally end Bill's reckless attacks. “Awww Hell No” Aaron says as he grabs his trusty Estwing Hammer and jumps out of the back of the Wrangler right before Batman Jr. uses the Jeep as a battering ram into a makeshift fortress of wooden crates constructed by some ewoks that weren't exactly licensed builders. This stops the Jeep in its tracks but is able to take out three ewoks as well. Aaron jacks an ewok in the head on his way towards the Jedi; but The Murderflies resident Ginaz Swordmaster leaps down out of nowhere instead. The two trade swings but Aaron hammer is no match for the royal Sampson blade as the swordmaster finishes off Aaron. The jawas start coming out into the open as well and it seems as if the very first ion blast fired catches Christopher Robin in the face as he and Batman Jr. are getting out of the crashed Millennium Groudy. Batman Jr. is able to go toe to toe with Jedi Master #40B and take him out with a batarang to the neck; but he is no match for the combined skills of the old friends Jedi Master #20 Ginaz Swordmaster #10 (both drafted by George Washington's Slaves in Season 1 and part of the trade that sent Sandworms #14-20 to the Slaves. Before this memorable trade, The Murderflies had a complete monopoly on sandworms and the slaves had one of the best stores of both Jedis and ginaz swordmasters -your friendly neighborhood Tyrant Commish). At this point the rest of the Empire comes flooding in, and the match becomes complete chaos; with both teams crammed into such a small area. The New X-Men come in and make ewok genocide their top priority. The ewoks do their famous swarm attack; but all it accomplishes is getting them all in one place and creating a few bigger targets instead of many little ones. The New X-Men are able to wipe out the remaining twenty-seven ewoks in a matter of minutes. But what they don't realize is that being surrounded by Murderflies for the short time was all that was keeping them alive. General Dorf gives the order and the marines unload every weapon they have on The New X-Men. They may be mutants; but they still aren't strong enough to withstand the best weapons that corrupt U.S. Oil Money can buy. Rocket launchers, grenades, M-60's and .50 cal machine guns light up the darkened warehouse as the marines allow for God to forgive the New X-Men, while they happily arrange the meeting. The marines then bring out the really big guns as Marine #28 dumps a box of 14 squirrels on the head of Zombie Nick Houslander. Everything starts eating everything in this gross display of grossness but eventually the undead Nick finishes his squirrel meal. Nick begins to walk away from his meal and snack on Jawa #4 when he is gunned down by several Clone Troopers. Hawkeye leads Arachne, Scarlet Spider, and Hannibal King. The 4 are able to dodge the mini ion cannon blasts and to take out the last 5 jawas with relative ease; but they have a bit more difficulty with the 6 Martians. They lose Scarlet Spider in the attacks but make sure that the Martians are all destroyed. Daredevil, Capt. Britain, and Meggan are finally able to overpower Jedi Master #20 and Ginaz Swordmaster #10; but they then realize that the Marines and Clone Troopers are now making their final push. The soldiers are coming out of the woodworks in droves as The Empire is now completely surrounded. Mother Askani yells to her troops to “take out as many as you can before they get you”!! The warehouse erupts in close quarters combat. Superman Jr. is in good shape as the bullets and blaster bolts bounce off of his Kryptonian skin. He takes out half a dozen of each (clones and marines) in the first couple of minutes of battle. Magius is casting attack spell after attack spell. He takes out 3 marines and 2 clones; but eventually his steam punk protections fall prey to the advanced weaponry of the Clone Troopers. Hawkeye is focusing his arrows on the marines because he is finding that his forms of attack are not that useful against the armored clones. He does take out 1 clone but his arrows find 6 marines that is before Marine #44 tosses a grenade that lands directly in his quiver. Meggan and Arachne focus on clones while Hawkeye is busy blowing up. They manage to take out 13 clones between the two of them; but the problem with last stands, is that you do eventually die, which is exactly what happens to them. Mother Askani avenges them by taking out the last clone with a mental strike, while Daredevil, Hannibal King, Captain Britain, and Superman Jr. take on the last 9 Marines. The Marines are well trained and fight valiantly; but they just simply are not well-equipped enough to take on the super-heroes. The Marines fall. Mother Askani looks to her troops and says: “It seems as though The Murderflies put up quite an effort. These so-called “commons” were far more efficient than could have been expected”. At that moment Gen. Dorf leaps out of nowhere and bear hugs Mother Askani. Some ramblings are heard about “a little trick my Al Quaeda Freedom Fighters taught me” is heard before the two team leaders are blown to pieces.

Has anybody ever played an all common team before? On the Playoff Planet?

I don't think so Mike; but I'm not sure. Back in the day, you used to see way more commons get played than you do now.
