The Right Wing vs. Hayley's Comets

I look to the teams which will do battle at the Playoff Planet in this First Week of the Playoffs. They are as follows:

The Right Wing: Poseidon, Silver Surfer (w/ a green lantern ring), Zeus, Gold Dragon #10, Superwoman, Red She-Hulk, The Volturi: Aro (w/ a red lightsaber), Caius and Marcus, Blue Lantern #2, The Quileute Tribe: Sam, Paul, Jared and Quil, The Cosmic Hulk Robot, Ewok Babies #3 and 4 and Batwoman.

The Comets: Lady Deathstrike, Sandworm #9, Arachne, The Blob, Hannibal King, Cable (w/ a green lantern ring), Hordak (w/ a yellow lantern ring), Reverse Flash, Sith Lords #19 and 20, Daredevil (w/ a Mithril Vest), The Justice Force: Silver Sentry, Ananda, Metal Head (w/ 2 blue lightsabers), Chrysalis, Tsunami, Nobody, Raptarr, Nano, Green Mantle and Boomerang, 8-Ball w/ 6-Ball, 9-Ball and 11-Ball in 8-Ball's Ship, Watchdog #1 and The Marauders: Scalphunter, Arclight, Malice, Harpoon, Blockbuster, Prism, Riptide, Scrambler and Vertigo.

Let the battle begin. . .

Water Region

8-Ball, 6-Ball, 9-Ball and 11-Ball hover above the water in 8-Ball's Ship. An immense tidal wave crashes over the craft and dumps the entire crew into the water. 8-Ball’s ship is submerged, but its buoyancy lifts it up again. Poseidon reacts before the 8-Ball crew can reach the hovercraft. Poseidon creates a whirlpool which sucks 6-Ball and 11-Ball under, drowning them both. 9-Ball is battered between immense waves and eventually succumbs to his fate and joins 6 and 11 by drowning. 8-Ball catches a lucky wave and reaches his hovercraft. As 8-Ball is about to fly away, Gold Dragon #10 releases its fire breath. 8-Ball and his ship burst into flames and explode.

As Gold Dragon #10 flies away, it is met by Cable (w/ a green lantern ring) and Hordak (w/ a yellow lantern ring). The two Comets combine their ring powers to defeat the dragon, whose skewered body strikes the waters below. The duo faces Blue Lantern #2, who flies to the scene.

Cable: You may have more knowledge regarding your ring, but you’re just a “common.”

Blue Lantern #2: Common I may be, but what I may lack in-

While Blue Lantern #2 is defending himself against Cable, Hordak maneuvers behind Blue Lantern #2. Hordak uses his flying saw projectile from his chest to slice Blue Lantern #2’s head off.

Hordak: No, you’re just lacking. . .

The two Comet lantern ring bearers fly away.

Forest Region

Ewok Babies #3 and 4 waddle along a branch. They see Watchdog #1, who fails to notice the furry combatants. The Ewoks push Watchdog #1 off the branch and to his death. They excitedly jump up and down in victory. Their victory cries fall short as they are met by Sith Lords #19 and 20.

Sith Lord #19: #3’s head would make a nice trophy over my fireplace.

Sith Lord #20: As long as I get to keep #4. I’m going to have that little guy stuffed and placed on my mantle.

The face off between the four combatants takes less than five seconds; Ewok Babies #3 and 4 are killed. As the Sith are “treating” their commodities for their dens with the Force, they are hit from above as Red She-Hulk strikes. The Sith are stunned and Red She Hulk takes advantage of this fact. She unleashes her entire assault rifle’s rounds into Sith Lord #20. Although Sith Lord #20 manages to deflect several bullets, his body is eventually riddled with same. Red She Hulk then rushes at Sith Lord #19. She ducks his lightsaber and runs her sai through his stomach. Sith Lord #19 falls, mortally wounded.

Red She Hulk (looking at the dead Ewok Babies): You have been avenged little ones. . .

Desert Region

Sandworm #9 lays in wait for its victim. It does not have to wait long as Zeus arrives. The beast swallows the Greek God. The Sandworm soon begins to lurch and spew as lightning rips through its body. It is no match for the god, who uses his powers to rip the worm apart. With Zeus’ crushing blow to the Comets completed, he flies off on a cloud.

City Region

On the ground. . .

Hannibal King: Volturi-sounds like a car I drove as a kid. . .

With this quip, Hannibal King fires his special weaponry at the regal vampires. King manages to kill Caius. Marcus quickly leaps over to King and places him in a choke hold.

King: Can’t… we… talk… about… this?

Hannibal King is answered with the lightsaber of Aro through his gut.

On a nearby building top. . .

Batwoman fights Daredevil. The two acrobats battle each other to a near standstill. Daredevil knows that he must do something extraordinary to defeat Batwoman. The righteous Hell’s Kitchen crime fighter commits to a suicidal act and grabs Batwoman. He rushes the both of them off the edge of the building. Due to their embrace, they are unable to use their billy club or bat utilities to save themselves. The two fall to their deaths.

Back on and just above the ground. . .

Aro and Marcus face the Justice Force. Marcus uses his vampire quickness and strength to kill Nobody and Raptarr. Metal Head with his two blue lightsabers bests Aro with his one red. Marcus is then killed by Silver Sentry and Ananda. Superwoman and Silver Surfer arrive to the scene and see the remaining Justice Force members. As they are about to fight, a cloud floats by. Zeus emerges from the cloud and, with Superwoman and the Surfer, manages to kill all of the remaining Justice Force.

Underground Region

The Marauders: Scalphunter, Arclight, Malice, Harpoon, Blockbuster, Prism, Riptide, Scrambler and Vertigo meet Cosmic Hulk Robot. The combined powers of the Marauders actually manage to destroy Cosmic Hulk Robot, but at the cost of the lives of Malice and Prism. As the Marauders smile at their nearly incredulous victory, they are unaware of the waters at their feet slowly rising (until it is too late).

Scalphunter: Hey, what’s with the water?

Harpoon: No time to ponder the fact, we need to move!

Poseidon emerges from the sewer waters, having traveled from the Water Region to his present location by following the detritus spawned by the City’s Underground Region. Poseidon floods the tunnels and prevents the Marauders from reaching any of the manholes above. The entire remaining Marauder clan is drowned.

Plains Region

The Quileute Tribe: Sam, Paul, Jared and Quil meet the Blob, who stands laughing at the assortment of glistening muscles catching the sun’s rays.

Blob: You may be prettier than me, but you’re definitely not stronger.

Sam: We’ll see about that fatso!

The Tribe rushes at the Blob and all transform into their wolf-states. They combine their abilities and ferocity to tear the Blob apart. Lady Deathstrike and Arachne respond and attack. The women manage to take out both Paul and Quil, but at the cost of their own lives. Cable and Hordak fly to the scene and kill the remaining Quileute tribesmen.

The Final Battle-City

Reverse Flash races over to the Red She Hulk. Reverse Flash is too quick for the red behemoth female. Red She Hulk tires and is ultimately killed by the speedster. In retribution for her gal pal’s death, Superwoman swoops in and kills Reverse Flash. Hordak and Cable combine their lantern ring powers and best Superwoman.

Zeus and Silver Surfer face Hordak and Cable.

Zeus: The time has come.

Hordak: For you to die!!!

Hordak rushes at the Wingers in an attempt to use both his technological superiority and ring powers to kill Zeus. He is met by the power cosmic of the Silver Surfer. Hordak is destroyed.

Cable, in a fury, rushes at Silver Surfer and Zeus. He is struck by a blast of water from Poseidon who stands in a nearby fountain located in the center of the city. Cable is taken off guard and is met by Zeus’ lightning and Surfer’s power cosmic. Cable is ripped apart. Cable’s soul emerges from the battle and flies toward the FFL Graveyard-where he awaits his final epitaph.

The Right Wing: Poseidon, Silver Surfer, Zeus survive.

Hayley’s Comets: All dead.

THE RIGHT WING IS VICTORIOUS!!!
