Over and over he relives it. Watching. Trying to glean all he can from that one moment.

Thanos was so, so close. He had them. The mighty Horsemen were vanquished. The honor of ending their impressive streak was in his grasp.

 

And then..

That little blue furball. Stitch. How could such a lowly, insignificant character cost him so much?

Thanos can't take anymore. He puts away the time gem, and pulls out the reality gem and reaches out across infinite realities till he finds what he's looking for. He appears during a heated debate between three of the all powerful Watchers of the league. They're so wrapped up in the squabble that they don't realize that he's arrived. Thanos indulges his rage and takes a small measure of revenge as he executes one of the legendary Horsemen of the past, Supergirl. 

He arrives back at home, feeling pleased with himself and vowing that this time will be different.

This time he won't rely on deception. This time, the Horsemen will feel the full hatred of the mad titan Thanos.
