Meggan: wife, teammate, and first mate to the now promoted Capt. Britain: Commander of the Death Star reports to her superior officer: "Commodore Britain, The Playoff Planet has been destroyed. Everything so far is going according to plan".
Commodore Britain responds: "Excellent Meggan. Thank you. I can't say I take lightly the millions of innocents who were just lost; but that is the nature of war. I am sure it was not a complete destruction; but how many members of The Madhouse survived"??
Meggan looks to Kitty Pryde who replies: "We cannot be certain yet Sir. But the planet is a total loss. One thing is for sure: Whoever survived that blast and made it into space...... We will be hearing from them shorty".
"And as for our team"?? Asks Britain as he looks to his trusted teammate Nightcrawler.
"Everyone accounted for Sir. Just as we laid it out back home in the locker room. As soon as the match began, Widget teleported everyone of us Underhills onto the Death Star. From there, Omega Supreme took off and has set up a satellite station on a nearby piece of planetary debris and several of the crew have been sent to The Alien Capitol Ship under the command of Captain IG-90. Capt. Fox has launched as well and is in command of the stunt fighters". Says Curt.
Commodore Britain, despite addressing his command unit on the bridge begins using a bit less of a professional tone and asks: "Pete.... I understand you ran a brief surveillance mission aided by your lantern ring. Is there any sign of leftover resistance from The Madhouse?? And what word of Mogo"??
"Sir, with respect and proper pessimism applied; there are far too many big brains on The Madhouse for them to have not mounted a counter-offensive with a fair amount of survivors. As for Mogo, we think it may have been a total loss. When the dire circumstances of our initial attack began, Ranx and Mogo went at it full force. It seems Ranx had the advantage with the yellow energy; but Mogo may have been able to absorb the onslaught with his sheer size. Most of that is based on educated guesses Sir; but either way, both Mogo and Ranx seem to be an issue of mutual destruction".
MEANWHILE....... Floating in space in a barely functional, makeshift craft barely capable of containing its four inhabitants resides Franklin Richards, Charles Xavier, Izaya the Highfather, and Duncan Idaho.
"I am still unsure how successful we were in getting our squad off world before the destruction. But we should be able to be in contact with our remaining troops shortly". Says Franklin Richards.
"Whom could have ever guessed that The Underhills would simply blow up the entire planet to achieve victory". Asks The Highfather.
"I did". Replies Richards.
"Well, that's a good thing Frank. But let's see if your big brain can find us a solution to win this fight instead of spending the rest of our days in this tin can". Says Idaho sarcastically.
Richards, in all seriousness replies with: "It all depends upon our three lanterns, and how successful they were in keeping our non-space worthy teammates secured in a protective aura. As predicted, we have confirmation that Arishem is safe and I have to imagine that Powergirl and Ursa made it out alive".
"Dr. Richards, I realize full well that our three lanterns were tasked with protecting a lot of team with very little time; but we must remember that Ethan, Scarecrow, and Voldemort are all still at a novice level with their lantern rings. And they would have to gain significant distance from the blast zone after gathering them together". Adds Charles Xavier.
"You geniuses can correct me if I am wrong; but the Kryptonians should have been able to grab the lantern energy bubbles or whatever we are calling them and get them far enough away to safety. That was the plan, right??"? Says Duncan.
"That was the plan Swordmaster". Says Richards to Idaho.
As the reports come in, it would seem that the Madhouse plan was more than mildly successful; but there have already been several casualties from the initial attack from The Underhills and their Death Star. Naturally. The sandworms were a total loss and impossible to move off world. Swamp Thing and The Deep were not retrieved from their settings; but Aqualad did somehow make it to the rendezvous point. Destro and Translucent are MIA as well. Aside from these initial losses, the escape of The Madhouse was quite daring. Scarecrow, Voldemort, and Ethan Hunt were able to encase the team in energy auras, that were then launched into space by Powergirl and Ursa. They then scattered at nearly the speed of light and have now been tasked with finding their teammates and mounting an attack on an armored space station, powerful enough to destroy an entire planet.
Back in the tiny makeshift space vessel, as their remaining teammates are being rounded up the four unofficially appointed military commanders of The Madhouse continue their discussion. "We are going to need a proper plan of attack if we are going to destroy that terrible space station and gain victory". Says Professor Xavier.
"We shall do so with honor". Adds The Highfather with little relevance.
"Listen up guys..... I know you are all a lot smarter than me; but I have several dozen lifetimes of military strategy under my belt here. Because aside from all of us breaking into that massive Death Star at different access points, killing every single member of The Underhills, and then finding a way to blow up that entire space station as well as their surrounding fleet of ships I don't see a viable plan here. So..... What do you got Dr. Genius Richards?? Let's hear this brilliant plan". exclaims Duncan Idaho.
The son of the great Reed Richards responds: "Of course I have a brilliant plan of attack; and it has already begun to be implemented: We will all break into the Death Star at different access points, kill every member of The Underhills, destroy their entire fleet of ships, and then, well..... I guess we will need to find a way to blow up that Death Star".
"HA!! Sounds like a plan Boss". Exclaims Duncan.
BACK INSIDE THE DEATH STAR:
"Begin The Death Star Sequence again. I know it takes time and we are going to need this thing fully charged up for the next attack. This isn't over yet". Says Commodore Britain.
"Aye Sir". Responds Nightcrawler.
The green and yellow lantern bubbles are escorted to the Death Star, where members of the Madhouse rendezvous with Franklin and his new Fantastic Four and begin stealthily moving about the monstrous ship; but space battles begin raging as well.
But enough talk, enough back story, and enough set up. Let's talk about the fights.
Atrocitus runs in to Queen Maeve and reminds her why the show is called the boys and not the girls when he hits her with a b**** slap that knocks her into the middle of next week (NRRR*). He then shows Starlight that equal rights also come with equal lefts and delivers a similar red energy backhand to her.
Blue Marvel, now aboard the Death Star, runs into Phantom Girl and turns her into a phantom of a girl. He then finds himself outside the Officer's Club of The Death Star where the Imperial Officers go for a drink after a long day of waging war on people who yearn to be free. He runs into Bizarro Superman and it reminds me of an old joke. Two retarded Supermen walk into a bar. Only Bizarro walks out.
A few of The capable Underhills venture outside onto the surface of The Death Star to meet two women who were blowing up towers and causing a ruckus. Matrix and Parasite attempt to put a stop to the antics of Powergirl and Ursa; but they are not as successful as they had hoped. Powergirl reminds Matrix that she is the only fake Supergirl in this battle and Ursa shows Parasite that the moral weakness often shown to him by his nemesis Superman is not an issue with her.
Aqualad may be out of his element in a space station; but he still has some moves and knows how to fight. He teams up with Gabby Kinney and they try to take on Starkiller. But Vader's secret apprentice seems Hell bent on putting on a clinic today. He parries the moves from both of them despite their sycronized attacks. Starkiller Force pushes Aqualad out of the equation and delivers a lightsaber stroke to the neck of Kinney. He then rushes in quick towards Aqualad and once again uses his crimson energy blade to run Aqualad through.
Aboard the ID4 Ship, IG-90 along with his crew of Greef Karga, Bo-Katan, Steel, Mera, & Black Manta put shields to full power and begin firing all forward batteries towards the incoming space giant known as Arishem. The Celestial Judge has decided to do more than simply pass judgement today and is engaged in a full scale assault on the Alien Flagship. Back on The Death Star, weapons systems are about warmed up.... First Mate Meggan speaks to her C.O.: "We are ready to fire at your command Sir".
"Initiate Firing Sequence". Says Britain.
"Sir, Arishem has engaged our Capitol Ship. We cannot fire upon him without taking out the entire vessel and it's Crew". Interupts Nightcrawler.
Commodore Britain, having heard Nightcrawler's warning says nothing in response. Instead he looks at Meggan with a heavy heart showing on his face and simply says: "You may fire at will Commander".
The Death Star, for the second time this day, unleashes its full firepower and destroys not only a Celestial; but also the massive Alien craft of allies.
Lamplighter and Pyro become fast friends and take a lot of pleasure in sending the Underhills' two Xenomorphs to the Graveyard; but the acidic blood blowback from their deaths don't agree with Lamplighter who joins them in a painful death.
Juhanni and Bastilla aboard their Imperial Fighters take aim at Osiris and Isis free floating in space like sitting ducks; but Juhanni doesn't survive to tell about it as she along with her TIE Bomber are taken out from a building leveling punch from Black Adam. Bossk maneuvers his TIE Fighter in a swift fashion to hit Scarecrow with a proton torpedo that is too much for his yellow energy aura to handle. Star Fox, not to be outdone makes the flying look easy and does a similar thing to Voldemort and Ethan Hunt. The sense of overwhelming fear unleashed by the death of Voldemort is too much for the nearby pilots and it takes out both Bossk and Master Shan.
Perhaps Rogue should have come into a battle against two green lanterns with more caution; but she wasn't aware of their power. Not that it mattered as she easily used her strength and speed to take out both Jessica Cruz and Miguel O'Hara.
As most of the remaining members of The Madhouse approach the bridge Duncan Idaho, along with Pyro and Black Noir have taken on a special mission. One that requires several variables to take place if it is to be successful. Commodore Britain sees on the display monitor that Swordmaster Idaho is up to something and sends Phoenix, Kylun, and Starkiller to investigate while having all other on board Underhill Personel retreat back to the bridge to hold off the impending attack on their vessel.
In the command center of the bridge a tight closed quarters battle of epic power commences. A-Train rushes towards Nightcrawler; but despite his speed cannot keep up with the mutant teleportation. Nightcrawler "BAMFS" out of A-Train's way and then places himself directly in his path with a tail sword stab directly into the heart of the speedster. Rogue is kept busy by the fire attacks and visual distractions from Lockheed and Widget; but is really driven crazy by Shadowcat and her ability to not be touched by her fellow former X-Men member. Kitty phases through Rogue and unalives her by strategically leaving a chunk of battle debris in her chest. Franklin Richards engages Bizarro Superman in a battle of brain vs. brawn that leaves that age old question unanswered. Franklin easily tricks Bizarro into denying his nature to not hate ugliness and in the process destroying himself; but not before Bizarro puts a fist through the face of the genius. Professor Xavier rolls up in his flying wheelchair, confronted by four green lanterns, including Kyle Rayner that are at twice their normal power due to the proximity of Arwen and her blue lantern ring. Charles focuses his telepathic powers and with a single thought mind wipes Kyle and his three green lantern buddies; but Arwen takes advantage of the mutant's weakened state, absorbing the Starman for invincibility and relieves him of his head with hadafang before he can lash out telepathically once again.
The green lantern powered Commodore Britain and The High Father are trading blows back and forth, while Black Adam and Meggan are engaged in a pitched battle as well. That is until the remaining members of Excalibur rush to Meggan's aid. Powergirl and Ursa are locked in combat with Atrocitus, Larfleeze, and Spider-Man. But, while these skirmishes are taking place, another one is happening in a small tunnel near the Death Star Exhaust Port.
Kylun rushes in towards Duncan Idaho, sword drawn; but Duncan pulls out his own Atreides Dagger and dispatches the mutant after several good parries from both combatants. Starkiller makes short work of Pyro and then manages to take out Black Noir as well with superior speed and swordmanship. This leaves Starkiller to join Duncan Idaho in an epic sword battle that ends with Duncan slicing the wrist of Starkiller to cause him to drop his lightsaber before slipping his blade into the throat of Starkiller. Duncan then leaps into the tunnel itself to draw the attention of Rachel Summers who decides to end this Madhouse Menace known as Duncan Idaho once and for all. Rachel focuses her Phoenix Force towards Duncan Idaho, who quickly activates his personal Holtzman Shield creating an explosion large enough to cause a chain reaction into the exhaust port of The Death Star.
Back in the Command Station of the Bridge; both sides become aware that the space station they are residing in is no longer stable. As Captain Britain was finishing off The Highfather and Larfleeze taking out Powergirl after her and Ursa had taken out his two partners Spider-Man and Atrocitus, as well as Arwen. Widget begins the task of teleporting Excalibur to safety; but Commodore Britain insists that it is his duty as a captain to go down with his ship. Meggan, in her undying loyalty to her mate stays as well. Ursa and Black Adam flee the Death Star via their own powers and volition.
The remaining members of The Underhills are teleported to the only holding they have left. The small space station set up by Omega Supreme who has laid dorment this entire match. Omega Supreme is being patrolled by his little buddy Countdown in Rover form, as well as Star Fox and Revan in their respective ships scanning the nearby areas of space. Larfleeze, Shadowcat, Nightcrawler, Lockheed and Widget arrive at the roaming station and begin to prepare for an attack from the remaining members of The Madhouse. Nightcrawler takes on an unofficial command of the remaining crew; but is uncertain as to what to do as Ursa and Black Adam rapidly approach their base.
But the plan is disregarded as Omega Supreme transforms from his space base form and begins swatting the incoming flies.....
