The forest had been silent for exactly twelve seconds.

Then Invincible hit the ground.

The impact flattened a hundred yards of trees.

Branches exploded outward as Mark rolled through the dirt, stopped himself with one hand, and looked up.

Across the clearing, six figures stood among the smoke.

Mary Marvel hovered above the treeline

Captain Marvel Jr. stood beside her

Darla Dudley grinned nervously

Pedro Peña and Eugene Choi stood behind them.

And then there was the monster.

Vampire Juggernaut.

He was enormous, red-skinned and covered in black armor

"Finally," he growled.

Behind Invincible, the rest of Doctor’s Madhouse emerged from the wreckage.

Atom Eve raised her hands.

Robot's drones swarmed overhead.

Rex Splode cracked his knuckles.

Dupli-Kate multiplied until dozens of Kates filled the trees.

Allen the Alien rolled his shoulders.

And from the earth itself, Swamp Thing rose.

Mary moved first.

She became a bolt of lightning.

Atom Eve barely raised a pink energy shield before Mary smashed through it.

The blast sent Eve crashing through three trees.

"Got her!" Darla shouted.

She flew toward Eve.

A duplicate Kate intercepted her.

Then another.

Then six or seven more.

Darla punched through them rapidly, but every Kate she destroyed became another distraction.

"How many of you are there?"

"Enough."

The Kates swarmed her.

Across the clearing, Captain Marvel Jr. collided with Allen.

The shockwave ripped leaves from the trees.

Allen laughed.

"Now THIS is a fight!"

He drove his fist into Marvel Jr.'s chest.

Marvel Jr. answered with a thunderous punch of his own.

Neither moved.

Then—

BOOM.

They vanished into the forest.

Robot watched the chaos from behind a massive oak.

"Rex."

"Yeah?"

"Vampire."

Rex looked toward Juggernaut.

The monster was tearing through the forest toward them.

Rex smiled.

"Oh, I've got something for him."

He pulled two explosive charges from his belt.

Robot's drones dropped dozens more.

"Do you really think explosives will stop that?"

"No."

Rex grinned.

"But they don't have to."

The drones attached themselves to Juggernaut.

The monster stopped.

"What are—"

The forest erupted.

A massive fireball consumed Juggernaut.

Rex pumped his fist.

"YES!"

Something moved inside the flames.

Rex's smile disappeared.

"Uh-oh."

Juggernaut emerged.

Burning.

Bleeding.

Angrier.

"That..."

He grabbed Rex by the throat.

"...was irritating."

Rex tried to detonate another charge.

Juggernaut crushed the detonator in his hand.

Robot's eyes widened.

"Rex!"

Juggernaut hurled him through the trees.

Rex disappeared into the darkness.

Robot stared after him.

Then he saw Juggernaut coming.

"All drones."

Every machine in the forest turned toward the vampire.

"Attack."

The ground began to move.

Vines wrapped around Juggernaut's legs.

Roots erupted beneath him.

Trees twisted.

The entire forest seemed to come alive.

Swamp Thing rose behind the monster.

"You have entered my domain."

Juggernaut snarled.

"Then I'll tear it apart."

He ripped free.

Swamp Thing's arm became a massive wooden hammer.

CRACK.

Juggernaut was driven into the ground.

The forest shook.

Before he could rise, roots wrapped around his arms, legs, and neck.

Swamp Thing pulled.

Juggernaut resisted.

The vampire's muscles bulged.

Then his eyes flashed red.

He tore himself free.

Swamp Thing regenerated instantly.

Juggernaut charged…..

Dupli-Kate's army had nearly surrounded Mary.

Mary landed.

Lightning exploded outward.

Every Kate within twenty feet was thrown backward.

Mary looked around.

"Where's the real one?"

One Kate smiled.

"You'll never know."

Mary grabbed her.

Lightning flashed.

The duplicate vanished.

Mary looked toward the trees.

"That's going to get annoying."

Then Darla landed beside her.

"Got them!"

She pointed toward a hill.

Captain Marvel Jr. had Allen pinned beneath a fallen tree.

Mary flew toward them.

But Mark intercepted her.

Invincible hit Mary hard enough to send her through the canopy.

She recovered in midair.

"Okay," she said.

"You hit hard."

"So do you."

They collided.

Lightning and Viltrumite strength tore through the sky.

Below them, the battle was becoming a massacre.

Kate's duplicates fell by the dozens.

Darla chased them through the forest.

Pedro tried to help.

Eugene attempted to coordinate everyone.

"Mary! Behind you!"

Too late.

Invincible caught Mary by the wrist.

He swung her into the ground.

The impact created a crater.

Mary rose.

Her eyes glowed.

"Shazam!"

Lightning struck her.

She surged forward.

The two became a blur.

Neither could gain an advantage.

Meanwhile, Captain Marvel Jr. finally knocked Allen unconscious.

He turned—

—and saw Robot.

Robot raised a weapon.

"I've analyzed your abilities."

Marvel Jr. smiled.

"Then you know you're in trouble."

Robot fired.

Marvel Jr. flew straight through the beam.

He grabbed Robot.

Then—

CRACK.

Robot hit the ground.

His armor went dark.

"Robot!"

Invincible turned.

That moment cost him.

Vampire Juggernaut came out of nowhere.

He slammed Mark through a mountain of trees.

Only three Kates remained.

They stood together.

Darla hovered above them.

"You guys are tough."

The Kates looked at each other.

"Run."

They scattered.

Darla chased one.

Pedro chased another.

Eugene chased the third.

Pedro caught his.

Eugene caught his.

Darla caught hers.

For one brief moment, all three Kates stood surrounded.

Then the real Kate stepped out from behind a tree.

The three surrounding Kates vanished.

Darla stared.

"Wait..."

Kate smiled.

"Sorry."

She multiplied.

Twenty.

Fifty.

A hundred.

Darla's face fell.

"Oh, come on."

The forest was dying.

Trees were broken.

Streams had changed course.

Fire burned between the roots.

In the center of it all, Swamp Thing and Vampire Juggernaut continued their impossible battle.

Juggernaut tore Swamp Thing apart.

Swamp Thing reformed.

Swamp Thing impaled Juggernaut with enormous roots.

Juggernaut ripped them from his chest.

Swamp Thing became larger.

Juggernaut became faster.

Finally, Swamp Thing dragged the vampire beneath the earth.

For several seconds, nothing happened.

Then the ground exploded.

Juggernaut emerged holding Swamp Thing's head.

"I told you."

He raised his fist.

"This is MY forest now."

A voice came from behind him.

"No."

Juggernaut turned.

Swamp Thing's body had formed behind him.

"You misunderstand."

The entire forest stood up.

Every tree.

Every root.

Every vine.

The forest attacked.

Juggernaut disappeared beneath millions of tons of living vegetation.

His roar echoed through the trees.

Then stopped.

By dawn, the forest was almost unrecognizable.

Fire burned in the distance.

Bodies and broken armor lay scattered across the clearing.

Doctor’s Madhouse had been reduced to two.

Invincible.

Swamp Thing.

The Horsemen had only one fighter still standing.

Captain Marvel Jr.

He looked across the clearing.

Invincible wiped blood from his mouth.

Swamp Thing rose from the earth behind him.

Captain Marvel Jr. smiled grimly.

"Looks like we're the last ones."

Invincible stepped forward.

"Not for long."

Captain Marvel Jr. raised his fists.

Lightning struck.

They fought until the sun rose.

Invincible broke Captain Marvel Jr.'s nose.

Captain Marvel Jr. broke Invincible's ribs.

Invincible threw him through a mountain.

Captain Marvel Jr. returned.

Swamp Thing tried to restrain him.

Lightning tore through the vines.

The three combatants exhausted everything they had.

Finally, Captain Marvel Jr. and Invincible collided in midair.

Neither moved.

Then Swamp Thing's vines erupted from beneath them.

They wrapped around both heroes.

Invincible struggled.

Captain Marvel Jr. screamed.

The vines pulled them downward.

Invincible broke free.

Captain Marvel Jr. did not.

He vanished beneath the earth.

Silence.

Invincible hovered above the ruined forest.

Swamp Thing stood below him.

Neither spoke.

Then—

a tiny voice came from the trees.

"Mark?"

Invincible turned.

Atom Eve crawled from beneath a fallen tree.

She was badly injured.

But alive.

Mark stared at her.

"You survived."

Eve looked around at the destruction.

"Apparently."

Behind them, the forest moved.

Swamp Thing slowly disappeared into the trees.

Invincible looked toward the horizon.

The sun was rising.

Of both teams in the forest...

only three remained alive.

Invincible.

Atom Eve.

Swamp Thing.

And deep beneath the forest floor, something began to grow.

Something that had not been there before.

Something with red eyes.

Vampire Juggernaut wasn't dead.

Meanwhile in SPACE (DUN DUN DUN)

Space itself seemed to go dark.

On one side floated Ranx the Sentient City, Arishem the Judge, the Beyonder, Brainiac's Skull Ship, and the Silver Surfer.

Opposite them was an absurd fleet: the USS Defiant, the Death Star, Optimus Prime, Cade Skywalker, the Paradooms, Decepticons, the Corleones, Kamek, and the rest of the massive crew.

Captain Sisko looked at the enemy.

"Fire."

The Defiant decloaked.

The Death Star fired its superlaser.

Ranx answered with hundreds of weapons.

The battlefield became a wall of explosions.

The Death Star's beam tore through Ranx, destroying enormous sections of the sentient city.

Ranx retaliated.

A wave of energy ripped through the surrounding fighters.

Optimus Prime charged through the destruction, Matrix of Leadership blazing.

"Autobots! Rise!"

The Surfer struck him with a wave of cosmic energy.

Optimus crashed into the Death Star.

His armor was badly damaged, but he remained standing.

Then the Beyonder appeared beside the Death Star.

He touched the station.

It vanished.

Erasmus, Lucas, Ness, Paula, Jeff, Poo, and everyone else aboard disappeared with it.

The greatest weapon on the battlefield was simply gone.

Michael and Vito Corleone attacked Arishem.

Green and blue energy struck the cosmic judge.

Arishem barely noticed.

He raised one hand.

Michael's Green Lantern Ring went dark.

Vito's Blue Lantern Ring followed.

A blast sent both men into the darkness.

Neither returned.

The Defiant was falling apart.

"Shields at twelve percent!" Data announced.

Quark looked terrified.

"I'd like to officially resign."

Sisko ignored him.

"Data, target the Skull Ship."

Data looked at his PS5 controller.

"I believe I can do something."

"You believe?"

"Yes."

"Do it."

Data piloted the Defiant directly toward Brainiac's Skull Ship.

At the last second, Sisko ordered:

"Fire."

Every remaining weapon fired.

The Defiant slammed into the Skull Ship.

The explosion destroyed both vessels.

Sisko, Data, and Quark were thrown into space.

A rescue pod automatically launched.

Everyone else aboard the Defiant was lost.

Only a few fighters remained.

Arishem.

The Beyonder.

The Silver Surfer.

Optimus Prime.

Cade Skywalker.

Cade's Stealth X-wing raced through the wreckage.

He fired at the Beyonder.

The shots stopped inches from the Beyonder's face.

The Beyonder looked at the X-wing.

"That was ambitious."

He flicked his finger.

Cade's X-wing flew away, badly damaged.

Cade survived.

Barely.

Optimus attacked Arishem.

The Matrix exploded with golden energy.

Arishem caught Optimus's fist.

"Your courage is admirable."

He threw Optimus across space.

The Autobot disappeared into the debris.

The Silver Surfer watched as Arishem and the Beyonder finally collided.

Their battle was beyond anything the remaining survivors could understand.

Planets trembled.

Stars flickered.

Space itself folded around them.

Then—

a flash.

Silence.

When the light faded, Arishem was gone.

The Beyonder floated alone.

The Silver Surfer approached him.

"You have won."

The Beyonder smiled.

"No."

He looked around at the destruction.

"There is nothing left to win."

Far away, a tiny escape pod drifted through the darkness.

Inside were Sisko, Data, and Quark.

A damaged Stealth X-wing followed behind.

Cade was still alive.

Then, from the wreckage, something enormous moved.

Optimus Prime.

His armor was shattered, but the Matrix still glowed.

The four survivors slowly disappeared into the darkness.

Behind them remained only the Beyonder and Silver Surfer.

And an entire battlefield filled with the ruins of everyone else.

The desert was silent.

An endless ocean of red sand stretched beneath a dying sun.

Then the sky split open.

Nekron raised his hand.

"Begin."

The Sandworms attacked first.

Eight enormous mouths erupted from beneath the dunes.

The ground disappeared.

One Sandworm swallowed dozens of Black Lanterns.

Another charged Black Lantern Poseidon.

A third struck Optimus Prime.

Optimus transformed just before impact.

The Sandworm smashed into his chest.

Optimus dug his feet into the sand.

"Not today."

He pushed the creature back.

Then He-Man leapt onto its head.

"By the power of Grayskull!"

His sword came down.

The Sandworm's skull split.

Optimus stared.

"Efficient."

He-Man smiled.

"Indeed."

The remaining worms attacked.

Black Lantern Poseidon raised his hand.

An ocean appeared above the desert.

The wave came down.

Ulmo answered.

The two water gods fought.

Ocean Master joined Ulmo.

For a moment, Doctor’s Madhouse had the advantage.

Then Black Lantern Poseidon summoned the dead seas.

The water became black.

Ocean Master screamed as undead hands dragged him beneath the surface.

Ulmo attacked.

Poseidon impaled him.

Both fell.

Black Adam arrived.

He struck Poseidon with enough force to vaporize the water.

Poseidon rose again.

Black Adam hit him.

Poseidon hit back.

Black Lantern Shazam joined the fight.

Black Adam looked at both of them.

"Two against one?"

Shazam smiled.

"You're already dead."

The three collided.

Black Adam fought like a god.

He destroyed Black Lantern after Black Lantern.

Then Shazam caught him.

The two flew through a mountain.

Black Adam returned.

Shazam returned.

Again.

Again.

Again.

Finally, Black Lantern Supergirl arrived.

The Infinity Gauntlet glowed.

Time stopped.

Black Adam froze.

Supergirl walked toward him.

Isis tried to move.

She couldn't.

Supergirl touched Black Adam's chest.

Time resumed.

Black Adam exploded.

Isis screamed.

She attacked Supergirl.

Supergirl punched her through the desert.

Osiris attacked next.

The Infinity Gauntlet flashed.

Osiris disappeared.

Isis disappeared seconds later.

Miles Morales swung through the battlefield.

Gwen followed.

Peni attacked in her mech.

Spider-Man India and Spider-Punk charged.

Spider-Noir fired from a ruined building.

Spider-Ham charged with a giant hammer.

Ganondorf laughed.

He raised his hand.

Dark energy filled the sky.

Miles was thrown through a mountain.

Gwen crashed into the ground.

Peni's mech was ripped apart.

Spider-Punk disappeared beneath debris.

Spider-Noir fell.

Spider-Man India was struck down.

Spider-Ham stared at Ganondorf.

"Buddy, you're really ruining the vibe."

Ganondorf blasted him into the horizon.

Miles rose.

His venom energy crackled.

He attacked Ganondorf with everything he had.

Ganondorf caught him.

Before Ganondorf could finish him—

Obi-Wan's lightsaber cut through Ganondorf's arm.

Ganondorf roared.

Miles escaped.

Obi-Wan looked at him.

"Run."

Miles did.

Ganondorf regenerated.

Then Qwsp appeared.

"Hello!"

Ganondorf vanished.

Obi-Wan vanished.

Miles vanished.

Qwsp smiled.

Power Girl.

Ursa.

Invincible.

Blue Marvel.

The Zombie Kryptonian.

Five powerful beings attacked the Eradicator.

The machine was pushed backward.

Then Vampire Darkseid arrived.

He grabbed Blue Marvel.

Blue Marvel punched him.

Darkseid didn't move.

He bit Blue Marvel.

Blue Marvel screamed.

Darkseid threw him aside.

Power Girl attacked.

Darkseid caught her.

He slammed her into the ground.

Invincible charged.

Darkseid punched him into the horizon.

Ursa attacked next.

The Eradicator impaled her.

The Zombie Kryptonian attacked Darkseid.

Darkseid smiled.

"Finally."

The two monsters collided.

They tore through mountains.

The Zombie Kryptonian bit Darkseid.

Darkseid ripped its head off.

The Eradicator destroyed the body.

Power Girl tried to rise.

Supergirl appeared.

The two Kryptonians stared at each other.

Power Girl attacked.

Supergirl activated the Power Stone.

One blast.

Power Girl was gone.

Dumbledore and Voldemort fought beside Doctor’s Madhouse.

Constantine approached.

Voldemort's Yellow Lantern ring fired.

Constantine dodged.

"Nice ring."

Voldemort attacked again.

Dumbledore joined.

Constantine suddenly found himself surrounded.

Then Obi-Wan appeared.

The Jedi deflected Voldemort's attacks.

Voldemort raised his wand.

"Avada—"

The lightsaber struck.

Voldemort fell.

Dumbledore attacked Obi-Wan.

The Jedi blocked.

Then Lashina attacked Dumbledore from behind.

Dumbledore fell.

Constantine stared.

"Well."

He took another drag from his cigarette.

"That went badly."

He turned to run.

Qwsp appeared.

Constantine stopped.

"Ah."

Qwsp smiled.

"Hello."

Constantine disappeared.

Eventually, almost everyone was gone.

The desert was covered with corpses.

Doctor’s Madhouse remaining forces gathered.

Dr. Manhattan.

The Beyonder.

Franklin Richards.

Trigon.

Silver Surfer.

Swamp Thing.

Atom Eve.

Professor Xavier.

The survivors of the Spider team.

And a few scattered fighters.

The Horsemen had suffered enormous losses too.

But their greatest weapons were still standing.

Nekron.

Black Lantern Supergirl.

Vampire Darkseid.

The Eradicator.

And Saint Walker.

Optimus Prime stood nearby, badly damaged.

He-Man remained.

Obi-Wan remained.

Qwsp remained.

The battle moved toward the city.

The surviving armies emerged into a gigantic metropolis.

Skyscrapers stretched for miles.

Cars burned in abandoned streets.

Buildings collapsed beneath the weight of gods and monsters.

The sky was filled with debris.

Then the cosmic beings arrived.

Dr. Manhattan floated above the city.

His blue body illuminated the smoke.

Across from him hovered Black Lantern Supergirl.

The Infinity Gauntlet glowed on her hand.

The Time Stone pulsed.

Dr. Manhattan looked at it.

Then he looked at Supergirl.

"I've seen this moment."

Supergirl smiled.

"No, Doctor."

She raised the Gauntlet.

"You've seen one version of it."

The Time Stone activated.

The world stopped.

Everything froze.

Except Dr. Manhattan.

He looked around.

Smoke hung motionless in the air.

A piece of glass remained suspended beside him.

Supergirl stood frozen.

Manhattan calmly walked forward.

He touched the Infinity Gauntlet.

The Time Stone resisted him.

Manhattan's eyes narrowed.

"Interesting."

Supergirl suddenly moved.

She had deliberately allowed him to approach.

Dr. Manhattan's hand passed through her chest.

But there was no blood.

Supergirl vanished.

Manhattan turned.

She appeared behind him.

The Power Stone fired.

Manhattan's body exploded into blue particles.

Franklin Richards screamed.

"NO!"

But the particles didn't disappear.

They scattered across the entire city.

Every fragment of Manhattan's consciousness remained alive.

His voice came from everywhere.

"I am not limited to one body."

The city lights turned blue.

Every window reflected Manhattan's face.

Supergirl looked around.

For the first time, she looked concerned.

Manhattan reassembled himself in front of her.

Then another Manhattan appeared behind her.

Then another.

Then another.

Hundreds of blue versions of him appeared throughout the city.

Supergirl looked upward.

Thousands of Manhattan duplicates hovered between the skyscrapers.

"You're using the Time Stone," they said simultaneously.

Supergirl raised her hand.

"Yes."

"You can manipulate time."

"Yes."

"But you cannot surprise someone who experiences all moments simultaneously."

Manhattan raised one hand.

The city changed.

Buildings rebuilt themselves.

Then collapsed.

Then rebuilt again.

People appeared.

Then disappeared..

Supergirl found herself surrounded by versions of the same battlefield.

Manhattan attacked.

One version of him disassembled her armor.

Another attacked the Infinity Gauntlet.

Another manipulated the atoms inside her body.

Another appeared millions of years in her future.

Another appeared before she had even been born.

Supergirl activated the Time Stone.

The entire sequence reversed.

Manhattan's attacks disappeared.

The city returned to normal.

Manhattan stared at her.

"You're learning."

Supergirl smiled.

"So are you."

The Beyonder arrives

"You two are making an awful mess."

He raised his hand.

Reality itself folded.

The city became a white void.

Supergirl disappeared.

Manhattan remained.

The Beyonder looked at him.

"Can you handle her?"

Manhattan looked toward the empty space where Supergirl had been.

"I don't know."

The Beyonder smiled.

"Good answer."

Supergirl returned.

The Beyonder's attack became nothing.

He stared at his hands.

"My power."

Supergirl attacked.

The Beyonder blocked the Power Stone.

he resulting explosion destroyed half the city.

Dr. Manhattan appeared beside him.

"We need to separate her from the Gauntlet."

The Beyonder nodded.

Manhattan created dozens of copies of himself.

The Beyonder multiplied his own attacks.

Together, they overwhelmed Supergirl.

For several seconds, Doctor’s Madhouse appeared to have the advantage.

Then Supergirl activated the Time Stone.

Everything reversed.

The Beyonder's attacks disappeared.

Manhattan's duplicates disappeared.

The destroyed buildings rebuilt themselves.

Supergirl stood exactly where she had been before the fight began.

The Beyonder stared.

"That's irritating."

Dr. Manhattan looked at him.

"Very."

A roar shook the city.

Trigon appeared.

He attacked Supergirl.

She blocked him.

Vampire Darkseid arrived.
